  If you're coming here for top-notch Mexican food or a fantastic sit down experience you need to stop. Go to the drive thru. Get a burrito. Save yourself some time.
  
  I've been a fan of Abelardos for about 5 years at minimum. There's some things they do amazingly well, and there's other things they simply cannot. That said, I will help you navigate the menu in a few simple steps:
  
  Burritos, Quesadillas, Stoner Food (Taquitos, Super Fries.etc)
  
  I haven't had a single burrito on their menu I haven't liked. Breakfast or Dinner burrito.
  
  If you're here, you're probably here because it's 1am and you haven't eaten all day or you're trying to sober up. That's what this establishment does exceedingly well at, especially with it's drive thru. (Don't Drink and Drive.)
  
  If you expect a well kept and clean indoor sit down, you won't get that. If you're expecting a taco that's better than taco bell, you won't get that. If you expecting a lot of frills and substitutions, good luck.
  
  This is an establishment that is better enjoyed for what it does well rather than berating it for what it does not. It's no secret that this establishment has became a staple around Omaha and is expanding quickly, so it's not going to be disappearing anytime soon. First impressions with a restaurant is everything, and the best thing you can do with Abelardos is to meet them half way on their terms, rather than expect it to be something it is not.

  Pulled up to the drive through and could not understand what was being said over the speakers, but just pulled up to the window and the cashier took my order there. Took me about 10 minutes sitting in the drive through to get my order with no one ahead of me, but I'm sure food is made to order. The nachos fill up the entire to-go box and are loaded with sour cream, tomatoes, onions, refried beans, guac, and a mountain of carne asada steak. The red sauce is very spicy but could barely taste the green sauce. Overall an ok Mexican option if looking for something on the go.

  Abelardos got me through my college years at Creighton. This place seems a little dingy but their bean and cheese burritos save lives. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu really. Pro tip: the quesadillas are huge and could be split amongst two!

  I drove all the way from Columbus and this is my 1st food stop. They have the best authentic Mexican food. I told them to come to he Short North. They will make a killing. Soooooo good it makes me feel good.

  Came to order dinner to go for the family, $50 later, received a Kids taco meal that was suppose to be a soft taco, asked for chips and cheese as the side. Received a hard shell taco in a box, saturated in grease along with the chips and very minimal cheese sitting in the bottom of the box, my child would not eat it. Menudo that appeared to be days old, tripe was dark in color and dirty, broth was very greasy and tasted blah, tostada was poorly made, had a heaping pile of lettuce on top of it, with the beans that just peeled off the tortilla, and asked for 2 jalapeños and only received one. The only edible item was the taquitos the was 4 for 5.99. I generally frequent a lot of Mexican restaurants but this was by far the worse I have had and I can't say I will ever return. Sorry Abelardo's, but huge fail on your part.
